Who I am
I was born in Louisville and raised in Oldham County, where my family taught me the value of hard work, service, and community. My father, a Vietnam veteran, and my mother, an insurance underwriter, showed me that resilience and integrity matter more than wealth.
As a single mom, I balanced graduate school while raising a child with special needs. Those years taught me firsthand the struggles families face when healthcare, childcare, and workplace protections fall short. Out of that experience, I built two Kentucky-rooted businesses Layne Wilson and Buy Socks You All, proving that when we invest in people and community, success follows.
I’m also a proud stepmother and an animal lover with three Boston terriers who keep life joyful and grounded. Whether as a parent, entrepreneur, or advocate, my journey has always been about lifting others up.
Now, I’m running for State Representative because I believe every Kentuckian deserves dignity, opportunity, and a fair shot at stability. My story is your story and together, we can build a future where families, workers, and communities thrive.
Uncover My story
I always loved visiting my grandparents’ farms.
Days started with helping my granddaddy feed the cows and scatter grain for the chickens, and I felt proud to be part of the work.
The dogs followed me everywhere, running through the barnyard and waiting for me to toss them scraps or chase them around.
By the time the chores were done and the sun was setting, I’d sit down with my granddaddy, unwrap a butterscotch, and enjoy its sweetness while the dogs curled up nearby. Simple moments like that made those visits special.
